A Spring Project

Updated: May 28, 2022

I hope your spring fiber choices bring you much pleasure. There are so many beautiful non-wool yarns out there. I found Queensland Collection's Brighton Beach. A colorful linen and cotton with a slight slub and a slightly shiny acrylic binder. The colors vary from a rusty red to an evergreen in the dye lot 09 called Bells Urchin. Today I have been crocheting my pattern The Bud-ling Scarf with this yarn and an H hook. It promises a wonderfully lacey yet soft shawl style scarf. The yarn works up beautifully as the linen content keeps the stitches firm. It takes 2 balls at 328 yards.

I hope to wear it this weekend as the breezes pick up in the early afternoon right now and cause a pretty good chill here in Winchester, Oregon still in early April.

This pattern works up quickly with the pineapple shapes creating "buds" for a sweet edging and every other row of shawl open patterned. After blocking the lace is striking!
